What is disordered gambling?
Disordered Gambling is characterized by a mental preoccupation with gambling, urges to gamble, hiding or concealing the extent of gambling activity, loss of control, chasing lost dollars, an inability to cut down, or stop gambling, and progressive, worsening of symptoms over time.

Family members often experience progressive worsening of symptoms that correlate to the decline of the gamblers functioning. Treatment for family members is just as important for the gambler.
